One of my pet peeves is a bad attitude. I know all about this, because I stated in my last post... I lived in a perpetual grumpy-bear mood for a while. It wasn't a great time.
Only we can decide how we want to live. We get to choose to be happy in spite of every going on around us.
So, grab a book, and work hard today to turn that frown upside down! :) Choose to live life to its fullest. Choose to be nice to others. Choose to love yourself!
Remember, my lovies... not only is today Friday-- beginning of the weekend, it's also the start of Memorial Day Weekend! Thank a serviceman or woman and smile. We get three days to have a great time and unwind!
Remember, make today everything you want it to be!
I've started a journey to get healthier, I know, I know... it's about time, right? Yes, it is! Many of you don't know that in 2010 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. And, for the first three years I could barely eat anything. Yikes!
Slowly, soup became my best friend. I ate 2-3 oz of it whenever my stomach would allow. However, from lack of nutrition, vitamins and minerals being absorbed into my body, I began losing my hair, energy, and to be totally honest with you... my sanity.
This horrible way of life continued for almost a year. I missed book deadlines, became lazy, and had no desire whatsoever to be involved in my own career, aside from the whole 'writing the book' aspect. People told me I was good, really good. I just needed to do the whole marketing thing, but I didn't want to. All of that had become something I loathed... that is until just a few weeks ago.
One day while scrolling through my newsfeed on Facebook I happened upon a post by one of my idols, and I'm sure one of yours, Teresa Mummert. She posted a picture of an omelet that she had made for herself in order to get fit (Like she needs it! I mean seriously, have you seen her? She's Gorgeous!). My mouth watered! I wanted to eat. After almost three years, I actually wanted solid food.
I took notes, and went to the kitchen. After assembling all of the ingredients I set forth to replicate the dish that made my tummy growl. It only took a few minutes over the stove and before I knew it... I was sitting at my kitchen table with a plate of yumminess (PROTEIN) and a fork. I took a bit... (pause for dramatic effect) and it stayed down. I gobbled up half the plate and for the first time in so many years, felt content, full.
So, because of Teresa posting that picture, I have been spurred to get healthy! Everyday I meditate, do yoga (You don't want to watch, it ain't pretty. I have fallen several times.), take a walk, drink 2 protein shakes, 1 fresh vegetable juice (Thanks to Peggy Sue Martinez <3), an omelet, and healthy snacks. Guess what? I'm feeling better everyday! I want to do all of that marketing stuff that I hated. I want to talk to people. I'm happy!
I want to thank each of you for suffering through this past year with me, and for believing in me <3
I'm posting stuff pretty regularly now, so if you guys are not following me yet on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter now is the perfect time <3 I'm sharing this new journey with all of you!
All my love, K.B.
